A former US Navy legal officer, Nicholas James Kassotis, has been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of his wife, Mindi Mebane Kassotis. Mindi’s dismembered remains were discovered last year in the woods of a hunting club in Georgia. Kassotis faces charges including malice and felony murder, assault, tampering with evidence, and removal of body parts. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) made the arrest after identifying Mindi using DNA technology. Motive details have not been disclosed by investigators. Kassotis, who also goes by Nicholas Killian Stark, served in the Navy’s Judge Advocate General Corps and left the service in 2019.
